Longview strives to be a home away from home for your pet(s)! At Longview, we provide safe, spacious indoor/outdoor runs for all dogs, big and small. All dogs are provided attention, love, and care by an experienced staff. The dogs know we love them and often wait by the door to go into the facility and give one more goodbye before leaving. Any medications, special food preferences, or other specific treatment for your dog is taken into account and administered with love, our guarantee. Due to all dogs having an indoor/outdoor space, we have the same rate for all dogs, regardless of size. Click on “Rates & Information” for more details.

Feeding

Due to the ever changing availability of products, we cannot guarantee one brand to serve but rather a selection of proteins. We have food available in various proteins, normally chicken, beef, lamb and fish/salmon are common to be carried in house. If you choose to use our food, Hills Sensitive Skin and Stomach, there will be an additional $4 per day per animal added to your final bill. We highly suggest bringing your own food during your dog’s stay as changing a diet can cause stress on the stomach increasing a chance for sickness and loose stool. All pups get Wholesome treats at bedtime, unless otherwise specified.

Medications

Medications can absolutely be administered if needed. Please bring all medications in their original containers with medication name and dose instructions. We carry peanut butter, pill paste, and canned food to give pill-form medication.

The Buddy System

At Longview, we believe dogs are happiest when they are socializing and interacting with other happy pups. As pack animals by nature, dogs enjoy having a friend to stay with. This doggie socialization helps make your pet’s stay more enjoyable and alleviates any separation anxiety they may experience. That’s why we use a Buddy System for single dog families, pairing your dog with another single dog of similar size, age, and personality in an indoor/outdoor run. The utmost care and attention are given to correctly matching dogs. Many of our customers choose Longview because of the social opportunities we provide for their dogs. However, we lovingly accept dogs who prefer their own space and cannot have a buddy, ensuring they are equally cared for and comfortable.

Pre-Boarding Trials

Longview requires all new customers to bring their dogs in for a trial before boarding with us for the first time. This trial consists of a 4-hour daycare session at no cost to you and must occur Monday through Thursday, with drop-off between 10 am and 12 pm. This interview is essential for our staff to observe how your dog(s) behave in our environment and to ensure they will not pose any harm to themselves, other dogs, or our workers. It also helps us understand their personality and determine suitable playmates. For families with multiple dogs, we need to ensure they get along together in a confined space. To set up an interview, please call us at (248)-879-0420. Longview reserves the right to refuse aggressive pets for boarding.
